We have partnered with many popular insurance plans to keep care accessible to you. If we are not in network with your plan, we can provide documentation to help you utilize your out-of-network benefits.

If you don’t have insurance, therapy sessions start at $59.

Frequently asked questions

Do you take my insurance?

We partner with select employers and insurance carriers to offer care directly to their members. You can see the list of insurance plans we accept here.

If your plan offers out-of-network benefits, we can work with you get reimbursed.

Do I have a copay?

Insurance plan copayments vary depending on your specific plan. You can call the number on the back of your insurance card to verify your copayment rates.

In addition, as the emergency copayment waviers put into place due to the COVID-19 pandemic are expiring, please check with your insurance provider to learn more about the policies they may be changing as a result.

How do I pay?

We accept all major credit cards.

The health coach will take your payment information during your consultation, when your initial appointment is booked. You will be billed per visit, within 7 days after each session concludes.

What is your policy on no-shows and cancellations?

There will be a $25 penalty applied to no-show appointments and cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment. This penalty applies to clients with commercial insurance as well as those who self-pay. Penalty fees do not apply to rescheduled appointments or cancelled appointments if more than 24 hours notice is provided.

Who will my appointment be with?

Your health coach will work with you to understand what you need and match you with an appropriate provider.

Valera Health therapists are highly-trained, licensed mental health professionals with expertise in a variety of evidence-based therapy models, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychoanalysis, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care.

If you need help with your medications, you will be assigned to a psychiatric nurse practitioner or psychiatrist.

How do I see my provider?

All visits with Valera Health are remote! You can join your session from any location that is private, safe, and is in the state in which your provider is licensed. Our provider matching process assigns you a provider who is licensed in the state you live and/or work in. You must be physically in the state your provider is licensed during your session.

You have the option of televideo visits on your phone using our Valera health app or a computer.

What age groups do you treat?

We work with all patients age 6 and up.

Do you offers couples therapy or group therapy?

No, we do not offer couples or group therapy at this time.

Do you conduct psychological testing?

We are not able to offer psychological testing at this time.

What do I do if I’m experiencing a power and/or internet outage or other inclement weather situation?
If your provider is not experiencing an outage, they will attempt to contact you first via your standard method of communication, and then will make an attempt via phone. If your provider is impacted, they or someone from Valera will contact you prior to your session letting you know that your appointment will need to be rescheduled. 
If you are impacted by a power or internet outage, we ask that you contact your provider on the Valera app or email them directly letting them know you need to reschedule your session.
